About the Book

A star-shaped UFO nicknamed Atlanta and a faceless figure named Overlord give Parker and Turnball a glimpse of the future. And they don't like what they see.

The Extraordinary Files have been created by Paul Blum, Head of Special Needs Education at Islington Green School and author of the bestselling Improving Low Reading Ages – A Guide for Learning.

The series follows Laura and David through sixteen off-beat, supernatural mysteries that combine an absorbing storyline with text appropriate for struggling readers. The Extraordinary Files have been trialled in Tower Hamlets and are now being published for schools across the UK.

The books are all written and edited to suit pupils aged from 10 to 14 years who have a reading age of 7 to 8 years. Special care has been given to the writing of the dialogue and the use of language to ensure that the stories have appropriate appeal. Each book includes reading comprehension questions, a glossary and an ‘about the author’ section.
